Tracing Tradition takes you on a journey to six historic churches over the course of six months, tracing the evolution of the Catholic community from the early 19th century to modern times. Discover the stories of the people, traditions, and events that built these sacred spaces, offering a deeper connection to the enduring legacy of one Tradition across generations.
"In Season: Thematic Tours Through Cincinnati's Catholic Past"

In Season is a tour series that connects Cincinnati’s Catholic history with the rhythms of the year. Each program highlights a particular theme, feast day, or cultural moment, offering a deeper look at how faith and community traditions have shaped local history. For example, in September we visit the Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse to trace the story of the Sisters of Charity, the first teaching religious order in Cincinnati, connecting their legacy to the start of the school year. In October, we explore St. Francis Seraph Church and the arrival of the Franciscans in Cincinnati, timed with the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. These tours invite participants to see the city’s Catholic past through the lens of season, celebration, and tradition.
Spotlight Tour: Historic Tour of Grailville

Grailville was founded in 1944 by a group of visionary women who were part of the international Grail movement—a lay Catholic community committed to the conversion of themselves, those in their community, and the world. At a time when women had few leadership opportunities in the Church, the Grail was blazing a new trail. While The US Grail is no longer a lay Catholic community, The Grail and Grailville continues as a space for women on a spiritual journey through empowerment to transform themselves and the world.
During this tour, we’ll explore the stunning grounds, historic buildings, and hidden corners of Grailville while uncovering the fascinating story of the Grail’s arrival in the U.S., the important connection between faith and the land, and their global vision rooted right here in southwest Ohio.
